This seminar will guide you through a step by step process to create differential impedance and SDD11 S-Parameters from measurements taken on a CAT 5 differential cable. It is a concept video that shows how to use many of the basic features of IConnect® using the Tektronix TDS/DSA8200 TDR to create Impedance waveforms (Z line) and then convert them to differential waveforms. We use these waveforms to create a differential S11 return loss waveform. Many tips are included in this concepts video.
Next, download the IConnect® waveforms/waveform viewers (Vr 3.5) in the ZIP file and the IConnect® workbook to your computer. Un-ZIP the waveform files in a folder and open the IConnect® workbook. Follow the steps in the IConnect workbook.
View Video 2. This video will show you step by step how to using the IConnect® workbook and waveforms to complete the training session. Video 2 will show you how to create impedance waveforms (Z line), convert them to differential waveforms using the IConnect® waveforms that were downloaded.

After viewing IConnect® concept video #1 down load the IConnect® waveforms and waveform viewers to be used with the IConnect® workbook and your copy of the Tektronix IConnect® software. Follow the instructions by starting up IConnect® and loading each waveform viewer as instructed in the workbook. Use Video 2 to help you through the workbook.
This step by step video will show how to complete the IConnect® workbook to create impedance waveforms (Z line), convert them to differential waveforms and a return loss s-parameters using the IConnect® waveforms that were downloaded from this page. Download this application note on how to create SDD11 & SDD21 differential S-parameters using a 100 ohm test coupon as the device under test. If you can master this test procedure you can use this knowledge to create S-parameters from backplanes, cables, etc.
